Former Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu has been found dead at a home in Rancho Palos Verdes of an apparent suicide.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Mike Arriaga said the 42-year-old Irabu was found dead at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Arriaga said it was an apparent suicide but other details haven't been released.
Irabu spent six seasons in the majors, from 1997 to 2002, with a career record of 34-35 and 5.15 ERA. He won two World Series titles with the Yankees (1998 and 1999).
