Kevin Kolb was supposed to be the quarterback of the future in Philadelphia. Now he will try to fill that role in Arizona.
The Eagles have agreed to send Kolb to the Cardinals in exchange for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round draft pick, according to the Associated Press, which cites an unnamed source.
Kolb went into last season as the starting quarterback for the Eagles, who had traded veteran Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins during the off-season. But Kolb went out with a concussion in the season opener and eventually lost his starting job to Michael Vick.
He reportedly will sign a five-year deal worth $63 million with the Cardinals, who have struggled at quarterback since Kurt Warner retired after the 2009 season.
Rodgers-Cromartie went to the Pro Bowl in 2009. He is expected to play opposite four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel.
